The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is committed to high standards in literacy achievement for every student.

In alignment with the Ontario Human Rights Commission’s Right to Read inquiry, we have adopted a structured literacy approach.

This evidence-based model provides systematic, explicit instruction in foundational skills, ensuring all students develop the decoding, fluency, and comprehension necessary for success.

As students progress, we build on these essentials by teaching critical thinking, media literacy, and the use of technology. We believe in a strong partnership between home, school, and parish to nurture the students in our care.

Recognizing parents as a child’s first teachers, we embrace a collective vision to support families in developing the vital literacy skills children need for adulthood.
