HPCDSB Equity and Inclusive Education Action Plan
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is rooted in the belief that every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity. We are committed to maintaining a school community where every member feels a true sense of belonging.
Our Core Commitments
- Dignity & Human Rights: We reject all forms of discrimination as incompatible with Catholic principles and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Removing Barriers: We actively identify and eliminate obstacles to student achievement to close learning gaps for all students.
- Inclusive Curriculum: We ensure our teaching methods and content honour diverse backgrounds—including race, gender, ability, and orientation—while remaining grounded in Catholic values.
- Empowered Leadership: We foster a culture where leadership at all levels promotes equitable practices and behaviours.
A Collaborative, Living Strategy
Our Action Plan is a "fluid" document, meaning we continually monitor and update our goals to meet the emerging needs of our community. We prioritize:
- Collaborative Culture: Using the collective voices of stakeholders to shape our goals.
- Student Voice: Ensuring students play a central role in planning and implementing inclusive education.
