What is the Indigenous Education Advisory Council (IEAC)?

 The purpose of Indigenous Education Advisory Council (IEAC) is to:

  • Provide advice on matters related to Indigenous education, initiatives, cultures and traditions;
  • Assist in identifying community needs;
  • Offer input on the annual First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Board Action Plan.

IEAC is made up of a diverse group of stakeholders, including Indigenous parents and community members, teachers, principals, Superintendents of Education, and local Knowledge Keepers, all of whom share a commitment to Indigenous education.

IEAC’s primary goal is to provide Huron-Perth Catholic DSB with advice on all matters regarding the implementation of the Ontario First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Policy Framework.
